Finding Grandpa (continued)Jumping forward a few more days, we were in Aabenraa at the local archives and with the help of a fine lady, Inger Hansen, I was able to find my Danish grandmother's birth record and a few more facts about her parents. However, there was no Peter M Petersen in that area. The Inger at Aabenraa had asked if I had looked for my grandfather in the archives for northern Danmark in Viborg. We had actually passed through Viborg on our bicycle tour. So we were back on the way to Copenhagen with at least some ancestral information. |

We had an extra day in Copenhagen we were planning for sightseeing. However, I could not get Viborg out of my mind. I discovered that a train would leave Copenhagen at 5 am that would take me to Viborg and back with a 2-hour layover in Viborg. My son stayed in Copenhagen to do the sightseeing and I was off to Viborg. I just wasn't ready to give up with one more opportunity that had been presented to me. |
